Sean McVay Addresses The Thought Of Almost Retiring After Winning The Super Bowl, But Says It Never Got Serious

On today's Pardon My Take... SEAN MCVAY! The Super Bowl Champion and Head Coach of the Los Angeles Rams joined Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter to wrap up Grit Week 2024 to talk grit, his evolution as a HC, winning the Super Bowl, clock management, and new plays the crew wants him to run.

Speaking of that Super Bowl in the 2021 season, it was an epic run for the Rams. Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, and Aaron Donald led the way for Los Angeles, but after that signature win, there were rumors that Coach McVay would retire from coaching.

How close was he to actually following through with this claim? He walked through his thoughts with the guys on today's show. Take a look...

Love to hear the honesty from Coach McVay here. He acknowledges that while things never got serious in terms of a potential retirement, it was certainly on his mind. And the fact that he had these thoughts certainly could have been a reason that the Los Angeles Rams went from hoisting the Lombardi Trophy in February to a 5-12 season just a year later.

Every little detail matters. ESPECIALLY to this guy, who is known for remembering every play, well, ever...

Next level memory. Simply next level. The Rams are coming off another season in the playoffs, where they lost to the Lions in a thriller during Super Wild Card Weekend. With an O/U of 8.5 wins this upcoming season, there is a lot of intrigue on LAR's 2024.
